Zangeres Kesha, die tot 2014 de artiestennaam Ke$ha gebruikte, heeft sinds vier jaar weer een nieuwe single uitgebracht. Heel wat jaartjes geleden werd zij met name bekend door het popnummer TikTok, maar in de nieuwe single Praying laat ze een hele andere kant zien. Het nummer gaat over de periode waarin zij kampte met een depressie en het leven niet meer zag zitten. Aan het begin van de clip vertelt Kesha kort hoe dit kan voelen. Tegelijkertijd gaat het nummer over hoop en dat je kunt helen, ondanks pijn en nare ervaringen. Met het laatste doelt Kesha op haar producer Dr. Luke. Kesha beschuldigde hem van seksueel misbruik.

Het resultaat van dit alles is een mooi nummer met een krachtige tekst. Ook de clip is de moeite waard om te bekijken. Het bevat veel mooie beelden. Onder de video vind je de lyrics, mocht je deze nog rustig willen lezen.
